/SafeMode (devenv.exe) 

Question

My Visual studio 2008 automatically close when i try to open project. I can create new project and work with it. But i cant open another projects which i take from another machine

 Solution
If it only occurs on your machine, please install latest services packet for Visual Studio and run “devenv.exe /safemode” to start VS to eliminate the possibility that third party Add-ins are causing problems.
We also can try to run "devenv.exe  /log " to generate log file to troubleshoot this issue.
